The Havre High swim teams made the most of their only home meet of the season with a solid showing at the Havre Invitational swim meet.
Although official team results were not available at press time, according to unofficial results, the Pony boys finished a close second behind Flathead High School of Kalispell, 96-83.
The Ponies were paced by D.J. Stuker's first place in the 200 individual medley. Stuker swam a decent 2:33.03, just ahead of Emerson Lara of CMR, who finished with a 2:33.18. Havre also had a passel of second-place finishes led by Scott Robinson's second-place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 100 breast stroke. Scott Vigliotti added a second in the 500 freestyle and a fifth in the 200 freestyle. Havre's 'A' relay team finished second in the 200 medley relay and third in the 400 free relay. Also picking up places in the top six were Ryan Kinholt with a third in the 100 backstroke, Jordan Magelessen and Charles Stratton in the 500, Kevin Friede in the 200 free, and Logan Floren and Clay Nottingham in the 100 backstroke.
Things weren't quite as close on the girls side as Great Falls High dominated, racking up 145 team points and winning six individual titles.
Havre finished a distant third behind Kalispell, which scored 90 points despite being without some key swimmers.
The Ponies were led individually by Rachel Hansen, who grabbed a win in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:00.32. Great Falls High's Skye McMaster was right behind her with a 1:00.59. Hansen also finished fourth in the 50 free.
Jessie Obrecht added a second in the 100 breast stroke and sixth in the 100 butterfly. Also placing for Havre were Kyra Kaercher, fourth in the 200 free; Emily Kostelecky, fourth in the 200 individual medley; Kristin Evanson, fourth in the 100 butterfly; and Morgan Zimmer, fourth in 500 freestyle.
