It's been a rough season for the Hays-Lodge Pole girls basketball team. But HLP forward Shakayla Whitecow has emerged as one of the top offensive players in District 9C. Whitecow poured in 24 points in a close loss to Box

Elder on Friday night, and she added nine more in a loss to Roy-Winifred on Saturday. For the season, Whitecow, who was an all District 9C performer a year ago, is averaging 17 points and seven rebounds per game and she will be one to watch at the upcoming District 9C tournament next week in Havre.

 

Rob Klingaman, Chinook Wrestling

 

    Chinook senior Rob Klingaman has already had a wrestling to career to remember. Just last year, he finished second to teammate Ben Stroh, and was part of Stroh's historic final match in the Class B-C 189-pound state final in Billings. But Klingaman isn't done yet. He capped a stellar run at last Saturday's Northern B-C Divisional Tournament in Chester with a championship at 189 pounds. Klingaman bested Harlem's Cody Blackcrow in the final in and will now advance to be the top seed in this weekend's B-C state tournament in Billings.
